Dr Abigail Loxham

Abigail Loxham holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge, her thesis is on peripheral identities in the films of three contemporary Spanish Directors: Bigas Luna, Julio Medem and José Luis Guerín. She is interested in the representation of identity in films that position themselves at the peripheries of the Spanish State, particularly in cinematic representations of Catalan identity.
Dr Loxham completed a postdoctoral fellowship at CCCS at the end of 2014, during which she published her first book Views from the Edge: New Readings of Films from Spain (Berghahn Books, 2014).
