Andrea joined the Centre , initially as the project officer  in July 2000, with a background in small business management, the travel industry, and editorial consultancy.  As the Centre grew, the project officer position grew into the Centre Manager role.  After resigning as Centre Manager, Andrea has continued her connection with the Centre as  an Honorary Research Consultant.

Andrea's doctorate was conferred  in November 2007.   Her thesis examines emotive address in Olympic sporting commentary. 

She has published on sport and media, and given various guest lectures at QUT and UQ.    Before joining the Centre she also worked part time tutoring at UQ,  QUT,  and as one-one ATAS and AIDAB tutor for external students from various universities.
